How we kept Machine Availability above 85% for a client in Food & Beverage Industry

Key challenges

Our client is a leader in the food production and distribution in Belgium. Their challenge is that their machines must have full technical availability in order to run continuously and respect the production planning. As a reduction of the operating costs of the machines is also needed, the client wants to shift from corrective maintenance to predictive maintenance.

Our approach

First, we had to define the client’s needs and observe the actual methodology used. In order to increase their Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), we started a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode & Effect Analyses (FMEA). We implemented quality control on industrial assets to analyse cost efficiency and to have a higher production rate.

Benefits

Our client now has observed cost efficiency for about 10% and has a higher production rate thanks to the right maintenance strategy to increase their technical availability. We managed to have more than 85% machine availability.
